VIETNAM VISA OPTIONS FOR CHINA PASSPORT HOLDERS

► Vietnam E-visa

Vietnam E-visa is an electronic visa type issued by the Vietnamese government that allows foreigners to conveniently and quickly enter Vietnam for various purposes of entry, such as tourism, business activities, and visiting relatives. Starting from 15th August 2023, citizens from China, one of the world's most populous countries, will be able to obtain a visa to visit Vietnam via the e-visa method.

► Vietnam Tourist Visa (symbol: DL)

Tourist visa is one of the most popular types of Vietnamese visas. This type of visa is issued to travelers around the world to enter Vietnam for tourism purpose only and does not apply to foreigners who intend to work or conduct business in during their stay.

 

► Vietnam Business Visa (symbol: DN)

In short Vietnam Business Visa is a document allows foreigners to enter Vietnam for the purpose of business activities, such as conducting exchanges and working with businesses in Vietnam.

If you have plans for long-term work in Vietnam, you should prioritize applying this type of visa, so that after completing the work permit, you can apply for a new one-year, multiple-entry work visa.

 

► Vietnam Working visa (symbol: LD)

Vietnam Working visa is a long-term visa issued by the Vietnamese Government to foreigners for labor purposes and is applied to people who meet the conditions for a work permit or are eligible to work according to the provisions of Vietnamese labor law.

 

► Vietnam Investment Visa (symbol: DT)

A Vietnam Investor Visa, also known as a DT visa, is issued for foreign investors who undertake business and investment activities in Vietnam, such as setting up a business or purchasing capital in Vietnamese companies.

DETAILED DOCUMENTS FOR VIETNAM BUSINESS - WORKING VISA

► Detailed documents to obtain a Vietnam Business Visa (DN Visa) for China

Step 1: The sponsoring company apply for a Business Entry Approval Letter

  1. Chinese applicant’s passport data page (valid for 6 months prior to the date of entry)
  2. All forms for the Business entry approval letter
  3. Business license from the sponsoring company
  4. Latest Quarter/Month tax report from the sponsoring company

Step 2: Chinese expatriates apply for a Business Visa at Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate or Vietnam International Airport

  1. Chinese applicant’s original passport (valid for 6 months prior to the date of entry)
  2. Photocopy of Business entry approval letter
  3. 02 passport size photos (4x6 cm)
  4. Visa stamping fee (as announced by the Vietnam Ministry of Finance)


► Detailed documents to obtain a Vietnam Working Visa (LĐ2 Visa) for China

  1. Chinese applicant’s original passport
  2. Valid Vietnam Business/ Working Visa
  3. 02 photos (4x6cm), white background
  4. Notarized true copy of Work permit
  5. Temporary residential certificate in Vietnam
  6. Business license from the sponsoring company

► Getting visa at Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in China

HOW TO EXTEND & RENEW VIETNAM BUSINESS & WORKING VISA FOR CHINA CITIZENS

► Detailed guidance on extending & renewing Vietnam Visa (Business & Working Visa) without leaving the country

As we have mentioned in our previous articles, it is possible to extend or renew business visas and working visas without leaving Vietnam. The sponsoring company and Chinese expatriates need to prepare the following documents:

  1. Original passport;
  2. Current Vietnam visa;
  3. A visa extension form (Form NA5) and Introduction letter;
  4. A notarized true copy of the sponsoring company's business registration certificate;
  5. Temporary residence confirmation.
  6. A notarized true copy of a valid Vietnam Work permit;

 

► Detailed guidance on having new Vietnam Business or Working Visa through Moc Bai Border Run

In any circumstance, Chinese foreign laborers cannot extend or renew their Vietnam business/ working visa within the country. They can consider the option of having a new visa via Moc Bai Border Gate.
