There are distinct types of business visas tailored to specific purposes. Example:

  1. DN1 Visa: Issued for foreigners who work with other businesses and organizations with legal status in accordance with the laws of Vietnam

STEPS

PROCESSING TIME

STEP 1:
SPONSOR COMPANY IN VIETNAM

Registering an electronic account for submitting immigration documents.

Purpose: To assist companies and organizations with an account to facilitate the submission of documentation and carry out immigration and emigration procedures for foreigners in Vietnam.

According to regulations, the process involves two steps:

  • Step 1: Register an Account at the National Public Service Portal.
  • Step 2: Register an Account at the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal.

The document requirements for creating an account, as stipulated, include:

  • Form NA16.
  • Form NA19 requesting the issuance of an electronic account.
  • Certified copy of the business registration certificate of the company or organization.
  • Power of attorney for signing documents (in case the legal representative delegates authority to another person to sign documents).

 

Upon completion of submitting the documents, await the approval of the electronic account by the Immigration Management Department."

STEP 2:
COLLECT INFORMATION OF FOREIGN INDIVIDUAL

1. Information required:

  • Nationality of the foreigner?
  • Purpose of entering Vietnam?
  • Estimated date of the foreigner's entry into Vietnam?
  • How long does the foreigner plan to stay in Vietnam?
  • Desired visa duration? (1 month/3 months)
  • Number of entries? (Single/multiple)
  • Where does the foreigner prefer to obtain the visa: Embassy/Consulate of Vietnam in which foreign country or Vietnam’s International Airport?
  • Current country of residence of the foreigner?

 2. Documents (clear scanned copies) required:

  • Foreigner's passport page;
  • Additional documents if applying for a Family Visit Visa (spouse/foreign spouse sponsorship):
    • Passport, Work Permit, and Temporary Residence Card of the sponsoring expert.
    • Documents proving family relationship."

STEP 3:
SUBMIT APPLICATION FOR PRE-VISA APPROVAL LETTER – HANDLED BY SPONSOR COMPANY

Once electronic account of sponsor company has been approved by the Immigration Management Department, you can proceed with the online procedures for sponsoring an entry permit for foreigners.

The steps are as follows:

  • Step 1: Log in to dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn, the public service portal of the Ministry of Public Security. Select the 'Submit Online Application' category.
  • Step 2: Find the procedure 'Approval of Foreign Personnel,' then submit the application following the provided instructions.
  • Step 3: Fill in all required information on the system and attach the necessary documents as instructed.
  • Step 4: Electronically sign the application as required and complete the online procedures.
  • Step 5: Receive the results of the online entry permit.

During the review of the online entry permit sponsorship application for foreigners, if additional documents are required, the system will notify the applicant to promptly supplement the documentation as per regulations.

In case the application is correct and complete, the Immigration Management Department will provide the results to the company or organization by online, allowing the applicant to access their account to download the entry permit file, concluding the process

In the case of applying to receive a visa at the Embassy/Consulate of Vietnam abroad, the company or organization must pay the fax fee through online bank transfer

STEP 4:
FOREIGN INDIVIDUAL AFFIXES VISA AT THE EMBASSY
OR AIRPORT

VISA STAMPING PROCEDURE AT THE AIRPORT

At the international airport, you will proceed to the 'Landing Visa Counter' to obtain the visa stamp. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Immediately after landing, approach this counter and submit your original passport, the printed letter of visa approval at step 3, the completed entry-exit form with all required information, and 2 passport-sized photos (4x6cm). Then, wait for the immigration officers to process your request and affix the visa stamp to your passport.
  2. While waiting, pay attention to the visa stamping counter. When you hear your name being called, you will need to pay the visa stamping fee (in cash, possibly in USD or other currencies). The officer will return your passport with the affixed visa along with a receipt for the stamping fee.
  3. At this point, carefully review the information on your visa. If there are no errors, you can leave the visa counter and proceed to the security checkpoint. If there are any mistakes, promptly report them to the immigration officer before moving to the security checkpoint.

VISA STAMPING PROCEDURE AT THE EMBASSY OR CONSULATE OF VIETNAM ABROAD

Step 1: Obtain relevant information about the Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam in your country, including:

  • Name of the Embassy/Consulate
  • Address
  • Email
  • Phone/Fax number

 

Step 2: Contact the Vietnamese embassy or consulate directly to get guidance on the visa stamping procedure. The process and processing time may vary depending on each country.

Step 3: Pay the visa stamping fee and receive your passport with the visa stamp according to the Receipt with Return Date for Results

NOTE: The visa stamping fees at the Embassy or airport have been updated according to Circular No. 25/2021/TT-BTC, corresponding to the validity period specified in the Law No. 23/2023/QH15, effective from August 15, 2023:

  • Single-entry visa: 25 USD per visa
  • Multiple-entry visa with a validity of up to 90 days: 50 USD per visa
  • Multiple-entry visa with a validity of over 90 days up to 180 days: 95 USD per visa
  • Multiple-entry visa with a validity of over 180 days up to 365 days: 135 USD per visa"
