Switzerland Visa

Citizens of some countries are exempted from the requirement for a visa to enter the Schengen Area for a short stay or transit: Nationals of the European Economic Area - the EEA includes the 28 Member States of the European Union as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway; No visa is required for a short stay of less than 3 months as part of a trip for tourist or business purposes (no work allowed) for citizens of some countries. The holders of a blue or red United Nations “laissez-passer” travel document, whatever their nationality, are exempted from short-stay visas for Switzerland; and Vietnamese nationals holding a diplomatic passport are exempted from short-stay visas for Switzerland.

Applicants who submit their visa application at TLScontact Hanoi will have their application file sent to the Consulate General of Switzerland in Ho Chi Minh City for instruction.

 

LIST OF COUNTRIES ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE SWITZERLAND VISA

Citizens of countries are allowed a maximum stay of 90 days in any 180-day period:

Europe: Austria, Italy, Belgium, Latvia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Croatia, Luxembourg, MaltaCzech, Republic Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Estonia, Finland,     Romania, France, Slovakia, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, Spain, Hungary, Sweden, Ireland, United Kingdom,  Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia, Ukraine, Vatican City, United Kingdom British nationals who are not EU citizens.

Asia : Brunei, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Palau, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan,  Timor Leste, United Arab Emirates.

Africa: Seychelles.

Oceania: Australia, New Zealand, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.

America: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Mauritius, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR SWITZERLAND VISA APPLICATION

All visitors to Switzerland must submit:

  1. Original passport valid for at least 06 months from the date of entry into Switzerland and still has blank pages; Please provide photocopies in A4 of the first 7 pages of the passport and of all visa stamps. If you have a previous passport, please also provide the copies of the first 7 pages and all visas;
  2. 2 passport photos in 3.5cm x 4.5 cm size white background;
  3. Application form signed by the applicant;
  4. A copy of Vietname temporary residence card, work permit applied for foreigner working  in Vietnam;
  5. Original confirmation of employment;
  6. Notarized and translated labour contract;
  7. Original last three salary slips;
  8. Travel Medical Insurance (compulsory travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries with coverage of at least CHF 50’000 or EURO 30’000 for the whole duration of the stay in Schengen area. Applicants who travel to Schengen area must bring the original insurance policy together with their passport, as they might be asked to present it on any Schengen border);
  9. Original bank account statements (company or individual) on the turnover during the last three months;
  10. Reservation of return airplane ticket;

 

For business purpose providing the following documents

  1. An invitation letter from associated partners/companies in Switzerland sent to Switzerland Consulate in Ho Chi Minh;
  2. A passport scanned copy of inviter;
  3. Business registration certificate and Statements of tax payments from a company in Vietnam;
  4. A letter of business decision from a company in Vietnam indicating the applicant’s position, length of employment, salary and purpose of visit(s) to Switzerland;

 

For tourist purpose providing the following documents

  1. Employer’s approval of the leave;
  2. Original Last three bank account statements
  3. Remittances, Credits cards, Regular incomes generated by property
  4. Hotel reservations;
  5. Detailed Tour.

 

For retired person and Student under 18 years old, please provide the following documents

  1. Original Pension statements;
  2. Confirmation of school/university enrolment for the current year;
  3. Original Student card.

 

VALIDITY OF VISA

For tourist and business visa with short Stay less than 90 days, single entry
The Swiss tourist visa for staying less than 90 days/three months is the short-stay Schengen visa, which allows entry to the whole Schengen area, including Switzerland, for up to 90 days in a 180-day period.
