Japan Visa

Japan is an island nation in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it borders China, North Korea, South Korea, Russia, Taiwan, the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk, and the East China Sea. It is an archipelago of 6,852 islands, most of which are mountainous, and many are volcanic. Japan has a market economy in which the prices of goods and services are determined in a free price system. Japan is a member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). As of July 2017, Japan has taken measures concerning the Visa Exemption Arrangements with 68 countries and regions. Nationals and citizens of those countries and regions are not required to obtain visas to enter Japan when their visits are tourism, commerce, conferences, visiting relatives, etc.

 

LIST OF COUNTRIES ARE EXEMPTED FROM JAPAN VISA

Citizens of countries are allowed a maximum stay of 90 days: Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Canada, United States, Agentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Surinam, Uruguay, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Turkey, Lesotho, Mauritius, Tunisia, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.

Citizens of countries are allowed a maximum stay of 30 days: United Arab Emirates

Citizens of countries are allowed a maximum stay of 15 days:  Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand


TYPES OF JAPAN VISA

  1. Temporary Visitor Visa for Sightseeing without Guarantor;
  2. Temporary Visitor Visa for Sightseeing with Guarantor;
  3. Business Affairs/ Market Research/ Conference Visa;
  4. Multiple Entry Business Visa;
  5. Transit Visa;
  6. Medical Stay Visa;
  7. Long Term Stay with Certificate of Eligibility (COE);
  8. Family Members of the Indians with Japanese Employment Visa;
  9. Applicant with travel record to Japan in the last three years;
  10. Applicant with sufficient financial capacity;
  11. Spouse or children of the individuals with sufficient financial capacity;
  12. Applicant with travel records to Japan and G7 in the last three years;
  13. Application Procedures for Multiple Entry Visa for indian National for business purpose, and cultural or intellectual figures.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR JAPAN VISA APPLICATION

  1. The original passport (must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least 2 empty pages);
  2. Visa application form signed by applicant;
  3. 01 passport photos in 4.5x 4.5 cm size white background, must be taken within the last 6 months;
  4. Work permit and temporary residence card applied for foreigner working in Vietnam;
  5. For business owner: Business Registration Certification + Income tax report within the last 06 months;
  6. For employee: Labor contract/ Certificate of Career + Payment slip within the last 03 months + Social insurance book (if any);
     

For business purpose, please provide following documents:

  1. Invitation letter written in English;
  2. Original letter of reason for invitation;
  3. Original sponsored letter from the company in Japan;
  4. Original valid Business Registration Certification (Tokibo) of the company in Japan;
  5. Scan paper of company website or the pamphlet introducing the company in Japan;
  6. Proof of commercial relationship between 02 company (Purchase contract, Sale contract...);
  7. Passport of the inviter;
  8. Schedule of working and stay in Japan;
  9. Letter of business decision.

 

For visit purpose, please provide following documents:

  1. Proof of Financial Standing: Recent bank statements at least $5000 of the last three months;
  2. Household Registration Book;
  3. Identity card;
  4. Marriage certificate;
  5. A copy of hotel reservation;
  6. A copy of return air-ticket;
  7. Leave acceptance from employer;
  8. For retiree: Retirement card and Social insurance/ Health insurance book;
  9. For student: Student card and Transcript.

 

VALIDITY OF VISA

  1. The period of validity of the single-entry visa is three months.
  2. The period of validity of the multiple-entry visa is from one to five years.

 

PROCESSING TIME

The visa processing time is at least 05 working days
