WHICH COUNTRIES ARE EXEMPT FROM KOREA VISA REQUIREMENTS?

Citizens of certain countries are exempt from obtaining a visa for short stays in Korea. This means they can enter and stay in Korea without a visa, usually for a period of up to 90 days.

The list of exempt countries is subject to change, so it’s important to check with the Korean embassy in your country for the most updated information. As of 2024, here are some of the countries that are exempt from Korea visa requirements:

Note:

  1. Document for Korea visa application need to be translated into English (except for Business Registration, Tax payment certificate, Identification Card and Online Confirmation of Residence Information CT07/CT08).
  2. Foreigners with a long-term Vietnamese visa of 2 years or more/ continuous long-term staying of 2 years or more can apply for a visa.
  3. All copies of the required documents must be printed on single side and on A4 paper size (do not cut & edit paper). The copy of certificate of land use rights and ownership of houses and other land-attached assets must be printed on same size with the original paper.

PROCESSING TIME

TOURIST VISA:

  • Self-submission: 18 working days from the date the Embassy/Consulate receives the application.
  • Designated travel agency: 7 working days.

BUSINESS VISA:

14 working days, including the day of document submission (processing time excludes weekends and holidays).

KOREA VISA VALIDITY

  • Single-entry: Valid for 3 months after issuance, allowing a maximum stay of 90 days.
  • Double-entry: Valid for 6 months after issuance, allowing two entries with a maximum stay of 90 days per entry.
  • Multiple-entry: Valid for 1, 3, 5 or 10 years after issuance, allowing multiple entries with a maximum stay of 90 days per entry (specific validity depends on approval).

DETAILED GUIDANCE FOR SUBMITTING KOREA VISA APPLICATION

STEPS GUIDANCE

DESCRIPTION FOR EACH STEP

Step 1

Determine the appropriate visa category

Select the visa type based on your purpose of travel.

Step 2

Fill out the Korean visa application form

You must go directly to the Embassy to apply for a Korean visa application, or you can also download it completely free at the following link: Korean visa application form.

Step 3

Appointment registration

Access the appointment registration page (depending on your household registration).

Select the date you want to submit your application, the date you can choose is red, the gray date means the schedule is full. Then, agree to use the service and click register

Step 4

Submit your application

When you come to submit your application, you need to bring:

  • All documents according to the checklist above
  • Printed appointment booking form (if any)
  • The phone has an appointment notification message received from the center. The center may call to check the phone number. Must register with the correct phone number of the person applying for the

 

Note: Must have the same name in the household registration book to submit the same application.

Step 5

Pay the visa fee at the center

The next step is to pay the visa fee. The amount may vary depending on your nationality and the type of visa you are applying for.

  • Single-entry visa: 20USD/person
  • Multiple-entry visa: 80USD/person

In most cases, the visa fee is non-refundable, even if your application gets rejected. Therefore, it’s crucial to make sure that you meet all the requirements before submitting your application.

Get the result Korea visa
