DETAILED GUIDANCE OBTAINING CHINESE VISA TOURIST BUSINESS FOR FOREIGN EXPATRIATES FROM VIETNAM 2023

China is an amazing country to visit and work for foreigners who are interested in its diverse culture, history, and nature. There are numerous attractions in China that provide breathtaking landscapes, historical landmarks, and cultural experiences, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Fenghuang Ancient Town, and the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor...ect. Additionally, China has a thriving economy that presents numerous opportunities for corporate collaboration across a range of industries, including education, technology, trade, and tourism. If you are planning to visit or work in China, you will need to apply for a visa that matches your purpose and length of stay. There are different types of visas for different purposes, such as tourist visas (L type), business visas (M type), work visas (Z type), and student visas (X type). In this article, Visa5s.com will share with you a detailed guidance through the process of applying for two common types of Chinese visas: the tourist visa (L type) and the business visa (M type). These visas allow you to visit or conduct business activities in China in 2023, with a maximum stay of 30 days per entry, depending on your itinerary.
I. IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE SUBMITTING THE CHINESE VISA APPLICATION
- The application for a Chinese visa should be submitted one month in advance, but no sooner than three months;
- Documents should be notarized true copy or photocopies with original documents for verifying;
- Documents do not need to be translated, except for some special cases that required translation from the Chinese Embassy/ General Consulate in Vietnam;
- Preparing the China tourist visa application carefully, make sure that the time and name on the flight booking confirmation, hotel booking confirmation, and itinerary are exact and match each other.
II. HOW AND WHERE FOREIGN EXPATRIATES SUBMIT AND TAKE RESULT OF THEIR CHINESE VISA?
Taking finger print is not compulsory when obtaining a Chinese Visa (all categories) as before. Then you have three options for submitting and collecting your visa application, as shown below:
- Through travel agent: If you apply through a travel agent, you do not have to present on the day of submission. Simply follow the instructions for gathering the necessary documentation, and they will take care of the rest of the process.
- By third party: If you want to appoint someone to submit and receive your visa results on your behalf, you must provide them with Power of Attorney. The person you designate must provide the Power of Attorney, their passport or ID card, and the VssID app (if it is a colleague).
- By yourself: If you wish to submit and receive your visa result on your own, you must follow the instructions on the website and go in person to the visa center. You must also bring your passport, application form, and any other necessary documents.
There are three Chinese visa application centers where you can submit your paperwork. There are 03 centers of Chinese Visa Application located in Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi and Da Nang. III. PREPARING CHINESE VISA TOURIST BUSINESS CHECKLIST 2023
Personal documents are prepared by the applicant:
- Original passport: with at least 6 months of validity from the date of your arrival in China and at least 2 blank pages for stamping the visa;
- 02 white background photos (48mm x 33mm) taking within latest 06 months;
- Chinese visa application form;
- Appointment confirmation;
- Temporary residence card/ Vietnam visa;
- Work permit (if any)
- Residence permit in China or previously issued Chinese visa (if any);
Note: A residence permit in China or a Chinese visa previously issued in an old passport requires a photocopy of the old passport information page.
- Flight reservation;
- Hotel reservation.
If you apply for a Chinese Tourist visa, please provide:
- Detailed travel itinerary;
- Proof of occupation:
- Employees: Employment confirmation; Application for leave
- Business owner: business registration license
- Retired: Confirmation of pension for the last 3 months, retirement card
- Pupils and students: student card
- Proof of financial: original bank statement, confirmation of savings book balance...
If you apply for a Chinese Business visa, please provide:
- Invitation letter from the company in China;
- Business Registration Certificate of the company in China;
- For employees: Decision on a business trip; Social insurance (printing from VssID app), Business registration certificate from Vietnamese company;
- For business owner: Business registration certificate.
IV. CHINESE VISA VALIDITY AND FEES
1. Chinese Visa Validity for Tourist and Business purpose:
- Business visa (type M): Valid for 3 months, single entry, maximum stay of 30 days
- Tourist visa (type L): Valid for 3 months, single entry, maximum stay of 30 days
2. Conditions required to apply for a Chinese Visa Multiple entries:
- China multiple entries visa currently just applicable for Business type, not Tourist type;
- To apply for a multiple-entry visa, you must response the following conditions:
+ BUSINESS VISA 3 MONTHS TWO ENTRIES: within the last 1 year, must have at least 2 Chinese business visas 3 months single entry;
+ BUSINESS VISA 6 MONTHS MULTIPLE ENTRIES: within the last 2 years, must have at least 2 Chinese business visas, 3 months double entries;
+ BUSINESS VISA 1 YEAR MULTIPLE ENTRIES: within the last 2 years must have had at least 2 multiple 6 months Chinese business visas.
3. Chinese Visa Fee: You need to pay two types of fees when applying for a Chinese visa, as follows:
- Chinese Visa Application Service Center: 690.000VND (Paying immediately after submission);
- Chinese Visa stamping fee: 60USD/ 30USD based on each nationality (when coming to collect the visa, the applicant needs to pay the visa stamping fee);
- If the visa application has not been approved or rejected in terms of the number of entries, visa duration, or length of stay by the Embassy or Consulate, then the visa fee payable will depend on the situation. Actual photos and service fees will not be refunded;
- The visa service center only accepts cash in USD, VND;
