CONDITIONS FOR FOREIGNERS IN VIETNAM TO APPLY FOR EVISA MALAYSIA

  1. Must have a passport with more than 6 months of validity.
  2. Must have a valid Vietnamese visa or Vietnamese temporary residence card.
  3. Must have a Vietnamese Work Permit for foreigners coming to Vietnam to work
  4. Must have a legal company working in Vietnam if traveling on business.

  1. Travel Schedule.
  2. Confirmation of Credit Card credit limit (If any).
  1. From the Inviter (MALAYSIA company): Invitation letter & MALAYSIA Company Business Registration printed within 3 months.
  2. From the Invitee (VIETNAM company): Decision for a business trip, Employee Confirmation.
  3. The trip's schedule

GENERAL DOCUMENTS

  1. Scan passport data page
  2. Photo size 4x6cm, white background
  3. Valid Work permit and Temporary residence card or Long-term Vietnam visa
  4. Hotel booking
  5. Flight booking (round or onward trip)
  6. Bank statement of last 3 months (Online statement is acceptable)
  7. For business owners: Business registration
  8. For employees: Employee Confirmation & Approval for leave

PROCESSING TIME

  • 2-3 working days (excluding the date of submission). Some applications may take longer to process.

VISA FEE

  • USD35 per application (non-refundable).

DURATION

  • Visa category: Electronic visa (E-Visa Malaysia)
  • Duration: 3-month single entry (tourism) / 6-month multiple entries (business)
  • Period of stay: maximum 30 days for each entry
  • Single or multiple entries. The approved result will be subjected to Malaysia’s Immigration approval.
  • Malaysia E-Visa  is valid from the date of issue

NOTE

  • All documents are submitted with PDF version & JPG file. In addition, foreign expatriates should take a note that all documents must be in English. If the document is not in English, it should be certified translated into English.

STEPS GUIDANCE

DESCRIPTION FOR EACH STEP

Step 1

Reviewing Document

  • Prepare all the documents in accordance with the visa purpose that you have chosen.

Step 2

Create your account.

  • Create an account on Malaysia Immigration Department
  • Once you register, you will receive a link on your email, which you must click on to confirm your registration.

Step 3

Submit and payment

  • Then, you can log back into your account to complete your eVisa application and submit the required documents through the Returning User option. Fill in your information and attach all the files as checklist above. Then, do the payment as instructed in the final step.

Step 4

Get the result e-visa Malaysia

  • Within 48 hours, check your account again to get the result.
  • Additionally, if there are any problems on the online application system, such as crashes or maintenance, the processing time for the Malaysia eVisa may be delayed.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

Original passport

  • Passport must be valid for 6 months from the expected date of arrival in Malaysia

Digital photo

  • Must be 30mm x 50mm in dimensions.
  • Must be less than 2MB in size
  • Must be studio-taken photo (scanned photos and selfies not accepted)
  • Must be taken within the last 6 months
  • Must be on white background without any borders
  • Must show full face without headgear

Passport first/ID page scan

  • Scan must be first/ID page or first two pages
  • Scan must be in full color (black and white not accepted)
  • Scan must be in original size (edited or resized are not accepted)

Round-trip flight tickets

  • Must be fully-paid flight tickets with e-ticket number
  • Must be in PDF format downloaded from the airline website (emails, screenshots or scans are not accepted)
  • If you have two or more PDFs, they must be put together into a single PDF, Dummy tickets, reservations, and itineraries are not accepted

Hotel reservation

  • Must be for the entire duration of the trip
  • Pay-at-the-property bookings are also acceptable

 

WHAT EXPATRIATES NEED TO DO AFTER HAVING MALAYSIA E-VISA?

Please note that the following documents are required to be presented upon arrival at Malaysia entry checkpoints:

  1. Valid passport/ travel document;
  2. Valid eVISA printout (eVISA Note);
  3. Boarding pass/ticket/arrival pass if applicable;
  4. Sufficient funds (Cash/Traveler's Cheque/ Debit or Credit Cards/ e-Wallets recognized by Malaysian Government) to cover your expenses during your stay in Malaysia;
  5. Confirmed returned ticket if applicable;
  6. Proof of paid accommodation; and
  7. Other supporting documents.
