DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON THE STEPS OF APPLYING FOR AN ENTRY APPROVAL LETTER FOR FOREIGNERS 2026

Step 1
Prepare documents to apply for Vietnam Entry Approval Letter

1. For Business/ Working Purposes

• Form NA2: Declare all information about the sponsor company /organization and foreigners on the system
• Application forms: Working schedule; Commitment form (Applicable for some nationalities)
• Foreigners’ passport, valid for at least 6 months.
• Issued Vietnam Work permit (for working purpose)

2. For Investment Purpose

• Form NA2: Declare all information about the sponsor company /organization and foreigners on the system
• Application forms: Working schedule; Commitment form (Applicable for some nationalities)
• Foreigners’ passport, valid for at least 6 months.
• Investment certificate, Business registration certificate, Tax report of Vietnam company

3. For Visiting purpose who is sponsored by foreign relatives

• Form NA2: Declare all information about the sponsor company /organization and foreigners on the system
• Application forms: Travel schedule; Commitment form (Applicable for some nationalities)
• Foreigners’ passport, valid for at least 6 months

4. For Visiting purpose who is sponsored by Vietnamese relatives

• Form NA3: Complete information about the sponsor individual and the foreigner.
• Certificate of relationship proof: For example, birth certificate, marriage certificate.
• Foreigners’ passport, valid for at least 6 months.

Step 2
Log in with a Public Service Portal Account

• Step 1.1: Access dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn
• Step 1.2: Select "Log in’’ then choose the suitable method:
  + If company sponsor: Choose ‘’ Tài khoản cấp bởi Cổng dịch vụ công quốc gia dành cho Doanh nghiệp/Tổ chức’’ OR ‘’Tài khoản Định danh điện tử cấp bởi Bộ Công an dành cho Tổ chức, doanh nghiệp’’
  + If Vietnamese sponsor: Choose ‘’ Tài khoản Định danh điện tử cấp bởi Bộ Công an dành cho Công dân’’
• Step 1.3: Log in by choosing one of two below options then click on ‘’Login’’
  + Enter the Electronic ID number and password; OR
  + Scan the QR code on the system, get OTP number via telephone message or on VneID app
• Step 1.4: Get and enter OTP number via telephone message or on VneID app then choose ‘’Confirm’’. Log in successfully.

Step 3
Submit online application

• Step 3.1: After log in, choose ‘’Online submission’’
• Step 3.2: Select the procedure "Xét duyệt nhân sự nước ngoài nhập cảnh” means Considering and approving foreigners’ entry.
• Step 3.3: Fill in information of the foreigner.
• Step 3.4: Attach documents: Upload necessary document files such as passport and application forms.
• Step 3.5: Submit application: Confirm and send application.
• Step 3.6: Track processing status: Use the submission code to track the status of the application.

Step 4
Track application status

• Step 4.1: Access dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn
• Step 4.2: Select "Tra cứu hồ sơ" means tracking application.
• Step 4.3: Enter submission code and captcha code.
• Step 4.4: Check the status: Newly created, Received, Processing, Results released or Modification required.

Step 5

Vietnam Visa Stamp

After receiving the Entry Approval Letter results from the sponsor company, foreigners should print out and prepare the accompanying documents so that they can stamp the visa on their passport at one of the following two locations:

• Vietnam International Airports
• Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate abroad

How to submit application & get results

Currently, both companies and individuals can submit applications and receive results online.

• Companies need a USB Token to log in to their Public Service Portal account, sign the application digitally, and access the result.
• Individuals need a VneID account to log in, submit their application, and receive the result electronically

Authorities process the Entry Approval Letter

In Hanoi:

• Hanoi Immigration Department: 44-46 Tran Phu Street, Ba Dinh Ward, Hanoi City.
• Working hours: From Monday to Friday, from 8:00 - 17:00.

In Ho Chi Minh City:

• Ho Chi Minh Immigration Department: 333 Nguyen Trai Street, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
• Working hours: From Monday to Friday, from 8:00 - 17:00.

Form of Entry Approval Letter result

ELECTRONIC ENTRY APPROVAL LETTER, with electronic signature and fax number of the Immigration Department

Processing time

• Processing time: Usually 5-7 working days from the date of submission.
• Notification of results: Via registered email or online system of the Immigration Department

Government fee

• Fax fee (Applied for stamping visa at Vietnam Embassy/Consulate abroad): 18,700 VND/page, online payment.
• Visa fee: Depending on visa type and length of stay, fees will vary.
